steve-o is dead. accidental OD on downs in hawaii. but maybe you already knew that, i just found out. it was like 3 years ago.

i knew steve-o from the first month he started the vandals, his adopted mom was one of my middle school teachers. he was always a great guy and i totally agree that the new vandals are a bunch of fucking DICKS< steve-o talked about what they did and a big part of why they did it apparently was the S was a pretty heavy schizoprenic, that's why he had to quit drinking and everything because he heard voices telling him to do fucked up shit, like throw furniture in the pool (hence the song). i have kept this secret for him for years and years but now he is gone maybe it's time to share what he struggled with.

he had a really intense life. his adopted parents literally found him in the gutter and took him in when he was little. he told me about a lot of stuff he went through, and it was such a shock to me when he got kicked out of the band and treated so badly. he did still get royalties for that movie he was in...but i was watching a tv show the other day and they used an old steve-o vandals song, andi have to wonder if they did it cause he is gone now and they could take further advantage of him.

steve-o was a really good person. i miss him and am sorry he is gone, he's one of those people you always hope you'll meet again.
